London - The Conservatives yesterday called for an official inquiry into allegations that a government farming spokesmen, Lord Carter, was associated with a farm which mistreated pigs.

Sky News yesterday claimed that pigs at Oldlands Farm, in Wiltshire, and Shoddesden Farm, in Hampshire, had been forced to live in cramped stalls, some of them without access to water. Some had died as a result, the report claimed.
