Three held after Dalkey drugs find

Three men have been arrested and a quantity of drugs has been seized following an operation in Dalkey, Co Dublin yesterday.

Three men have been arrested and a quantity of drugs has been seized following an operation in Dalkey, Co Dublin yesterday.

The three men, who range in ages from late 20s to mid 50s, have been detained under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act at Dun Laoghaire and Blackrock Garda Stations. They can be held for up to seven days.

Gardaí from the Garda National Drugs Unit and Dun Laoghaire Drugs Unit arrested two of the men after a car was stopped and searched on Corrig Road. Gardaí discovered a quantity of herbal cannabis in the vehicle.

A follow up search at a house at Corrig Road uncovered a quantity of cocaine, and a third man was arrested.

The drugs seized during the operation may have a street value of up to €150,000.
