Three men were charged today following violent disturbances in Co Armagh last night.

Three men were charged today following violent disturbances in Co Armagh last night.

Police came under petrol bomb attack when they moved in to the centre of Lurgan where crowds were hurling missiles and setting bins on fire and blocking the road with them.

The men, aged, 21, 28 and 42, were arrested during the trouble in the Edward Street area and charged with a number of offences including disorderly behaviour.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland said the men had been released on police bail to appear at Craigavon Magistrates Court on November 8th.

A 17-year-old girl arrested during the trouble has been released without charge pending reports. Police are still trying to establish what sparked the violence.
