A female supervisor of a Tesco supermarket play area is entitled to the same rates of pay as other supervisory grades, according to a new Labour Court finding, writes Padraig Yeates.
Ms Louise O'Toole has been awarded a 7.5 per cent pay rise and £20 a week back dated to March 1995. The arrears will be worth more than £10,000. Ms O'Toole, who works part-time in the play area of a Tesco store in Lucan, won her ground-breaking award yesterday.
