Clodagh Cogley, one of the survivors of the Berkeley balcony collapse, has paid tribute to those who lost their lives during the incident, on the three-month anniversary of the event.
Ms Cogley posted on Facebook on Wednesday: "Today marks three months since Nick, Eoghan, Olivia, Eimear, Lorcán and Ashley were taken from us. I don't have the words to describe the sadness of their passing, so all I will say is that I am thinking of their families and friends. They are deeply missed."
Eimear Walsh, Ashley Donohoe, Olivia Burke, Niccolai Schuster, Eoghan Culligan and Lorcán Miller died when the fourth-floor balcony collapsed on June 16th.
The students had been celebrating Aoife Beary’s 21st birthday in apartment 405 of the Library Gardens apartment building, at 2020 Kittredge Street.
Ms Cogley arrived home to Dublin last month and had been receiving treatment at the brain and spinal cord injury rehab facility in the Santa Clara Valley Medical Centre after suffering extensive damage to her ribs, lungs and spine.
A Go Fund Me page to raise funds for Clodagh's treatment and help her family pay for adaptations to their home to meet Clodagh's needs and accommodate a wheelchair, has so far raised €116,000 out of the €150,000 she needs.
A third-year psychology student at Trinity College, Ms Cogley is from Milltown in south Dublin, and is the daughter of TV3 director of broadcasting Niall Cogley. She is also the grand-daughter of legendary rugby commentator Frank Cogley.
