A woman in her late 20s was killed when the car she was a passenger in crashed in Co Longford. She was naemd thes afternoon as Eva Butler (28) from River Valley Drive, Swords, Co Dublin.

There was no other vehicle involved in the crash at Ballymahon, Co Longford which happened at around 8 pm.

An hour before in Co Wexford, 22-year-old motorcyclist, Mark Clare was fatally injured in a crash with a car at Monaseed Demesne, Gorey.

The young man from Glenogue, Coolgreany, was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to Wexford general for post mortem examination.

All six of those killed this weekend on the roads have now been named.

The man who died in when his car crashed in Co Wickow in the early hours yesterday was naemcd today as Fran Mitchell (27) from Sea View, Redford Park, Greystones.

And the man who died in another single-vehicle crash in Skibbereen, Co Cork was naemd as Christopher Hunt (33) from Ardagh, Church Cross, Skibbereen.

Gardaí yesterday named the 70-year-old woman who died when the car she was a passenger in collided with another car at Rathduff, Balla, Co Mayo. She Julie Fitzgearld of Aisling Manor, Balla.

Thomas O'Brien (24) from Clogheen House, Kilroe, Kanturk died after the car he was driving crashed into another car near the deceased man's hometown at 7.30 am yesterday morning.
