The examination was carried out on the entrails as it was thought that they might have been human.

The alarm was raised after the remains were found in a bin in a housing estate in Clondalkin yesterday evening.

Gardaí from Ronanstown Garda station were investigating the matter.

However, a Garda spokesman said this evening that the postmortem had shown it was sheep rather than human entrails that were discovered.
