Exam Pressure

It was always going to be a big week for the country's Leaving Cert students, but little did they know of the drama that would play out on Wednesday when a superintendant at a Drogheda school accidentally handed out English paper 2 instead of paper 1. Thanks to the web, within hours most students knew what was on it and Thursday's exam was postponed until a replacement could be set for today. In both internet and exam lingo, that was a massive fail.

A Spanish man whom the Dalai Lama, left, had declared the living reincarnation of a Tibetan spiritual leader has decided that he would prefer to live the life of an ordinary guy rather than that of an object of worship. Osel Hita Torres had been chosen at only 14 months, and spent much of his childhood in an Indian monastary. He says he was unhappy with the "medieval situation". Later studying in Europe, he was shocked when he first saw disco dancing, and has since gone on to study film.
