A 15-year-old schoolboy was killed at the scene of a bomb alert in Co Antrim yesterday.

Aaron Jason Green, of Carnmoyne, Ahoghill, was killed instantly when he was struck by a car during a bomb scare in the village.

The youth had cycled into the town when the bomb alert was continuing at a Catholic-owned furniture store in Church Street.

"Aaron was diverted away from the scene of the alert, but sadly as he approached the junction of Glebe Road and Church Street, he was in collision with an oncoming vehicle," a PSNI spokesman said.
