A thirty-two years old electrician who is originally from the Loyalist Irish Street Estate in Derry, appeared in court yesterday charged with the possession of copies of pages from a terrorist's manual.

Jonathan Wilson, whose address was given as Pickard Close in Rugby, England, was returned for trial after a preliminary enquiry at Derry Magistrates' Court.

He's charged with possessing copies of pages from "The Terrorist's Handbook" for the purpose of commissioning, preparing or instigating acts of terrorism in Northern Ireland. The offence is alleged to have occurred between September 1993 and November 1999.

Asked in court if he had anything to say in answer to the charge, the defendant replied "Not at the minute".

The defendant was returned for trial on his own bail of £500 plus two independent sureties each of £500 to Belfast Crown Court. He was also ordered to report twice each week to Rugby Police Station.
