Paris - Ms Danielle Mitterrand, the widow of the late French president, was questioned yesterday by judges investigating the arms-to-Angola case in which her son Jean-Christophe faces possible charges.
Ms Mitterrand was interviewed for nearly an hour and a half and left the courthouse without making any comment. She was summoned by the judges after claims by a respected French cleric and social rights activist, Abbe Pierre, that he held a secret meeting with her in 1996 to warn her of her son's interests in Angola. A source close to the case said Ms Mitterrand had told the judges she could not remember what was said at the meeting.
