The apartment in Bettystown was cordoned off this morning.

The Romanian man (32), who had been stabbed, was found lying in his garden in Drogheda by a housemate returning from work on Friday night.

He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital soon after 11pm but was pronounced dead on arrival.

An incident room has been set up at Drogheda Garda station, and gardaí are appealing to any witnesses to the stabbing to come forward.
