A MAN, believed to be in his mid 40s, was detained at Beaumont hospital overnight after being beaten, tied up, and robbed of approximately £600 by two men at his home on Kinsealy Lane in north county Dublin last night.

The man, who was described by gardai as being in "a serious state of shock" had been asleep when the men entered his bungalow sometime before 10.30 p.m.

He was beaten about the head and "blanked out". When he came too sometime later, he freed himself and made his way to a neighbours house.
