A Co. Antrim man who stole £40 from a Dublin prostitute has been remanded in custody for sentence on July 16th by Ms Justice McGuinness in the Central Criminal Court.

William Robinson (38), married with a family, of Killiney Avenue, Lisburn, had 32 previous convictions in the North since 1975 for wounding, assault, robbery, burglary, theft, hijacking, handling stolen property, malicious damage and receiving property by deceit, receiving sentences from one day to three years.

Robinson was found guilty by a jury of robbing the prostitute at the Grand Canal at Herbert Place, Dublin, on June 4th, 1997. He was found not guilty of committing two other serious offences on the same occasion.
