A 27-year-old man has been badly injured in a shooting attack near the Border in Co Louth.
The victim, from Dundalk, was shot in the chest and both hands in the attack at Omeath last night.
He was brought to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, and later transferred to St James's Hospital, Dublin, where his condition is not thought to be life-threatening.
Gardaí are investigating the incident.
