Man shot in Belfast paramilitary-style attack

A 19-year-old man was shot in the ankles in what police described as a paramilitary-style attack in west Belfast last night.

A 19-year-old man was shot in the ankles in what police described as a paramilitary-style attack in west Belfast last night.

A PSNI spokesman said the man was taken to a laneway in Rodney Drive by an unknown number of men at around 7.30 p.m. and shot.

The spokesman said police officers attending the scene of the incident were attacked by stone-throwing local youths.
