Man's face slashed in Co Antrim assault

A man in his early twenties has been slashed in the face during an assault in Co Antrim last night.

A man in his early twenties has been slashed in the face during an assault in Co Antrim last night.

The victim, who is believed to be aged 21, also sustained a head injury and a suspected broken arm during the attack in Ballymena.

The incident occurred shortly after 10pm in Fountain Place. Police said detectives were following a definite line of inquiry.

It is understood that they do not believe at this stage that the attack was a sectarian or paramilitary related incident.
