A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Declan O’Reilly, who was shot dead on the South Circular Road in Dublin 10 days ago.

Mr O’Reilly (32) was shot in the upper body while walking with his 10-year-old son on September 24th.

The arrested man, who is in his 20s,  is being held at Kevin Street Garda station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.

He can be detained for up to seven days.

Mr O'Reilly stabbed Derek Glennon (24) to death in Mountjoy Prison in 2007, but was aquitted after he said it was self defence.
