A driver who was arrested after his car was chased by a gardaí in Cork city has been released without charge.

A driver who was arrested after his car was chased by a gardaí in Cork city has been released without charge.

Gardaí pursued the car of the man (24) after he failed to stop. He was arrested at the city centre Grand Parade area at about 12.30pm.

Nobody was injured during the incident.

The man was held at the Bridewell Garda station in Cork city but has since been released.

A file has been sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
