A 26-year-old man will appear at Kilmainham District Court in Dublin today on charges relating to a robbery on June 5th near Castlejordan, Co Meath, during which an elderly bachelor farmer died. The man, with an address in Dublin, was arrested in the city-centre yesterday morning and held at Lucan Garda station under Section 4 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act. He has been charged with robbery and assault.

Mr Patrick Logan (81) suffered a fatal heart attack and his brother, Peter (83), sustained serious head injuries during an attack by two raiders who broke into their isolated cottage close to the Meath-Offaly border. Both men were beaten with a brush. The intruders escaped with about £45.
