Limerick housing list at record high

The Limerick County Council housing list stands at a 100-year record high

The Limerick County Council housing list stands at a 100-year record high. A total of 1,311 applicants are waiting to be housed by the council, an increase of 50 per cent over the past two years.

Despite a record number of housing project "starts" this year, the waiting list is not expected to be cut significantly. The council is to build 100 houses this year.

Social housing schemes will meet the needs of a further 100 applicants.
