Russia - The operation to raise the sunken Kursk nuclear submarine proceeded as planned yesterday, with divers continuing to mark places on the hull where steel cables would be attached for lifting the vessel, the Russian navy said. Over the weekend, divers again examined the submarine's mangled front part to make sure it could be safely cut from the rest of the vessel, said navy spokesman Mr Igor Dygalo.
