Nairobi - A white Kenyan government minister said yesterday that hundreds of families had invaded two farms, one of which he owned.
Mr Basil Criticos, the Assistant Minister for Roads and Public Works, said in a statement that about 300 families had moved on to his farm and beaten up his security workers. Some 200 families had invaded another farm, he said.
He said the invasions followed exhortations by an opposition member of parliament, Mr Steven Ndichu, and Mr Sharif Nassir, a ruling party minister in President Daniel arap Moi's office.
