The Supreme Court has granted businessman Jim Kennedy a stay on his forthcoming criminal trial in connection with alleged corrupt payments concerning land rezonings in Co Dublin.
The stay applies pending the determination by the Supreme Court of his appeal against the High Court’s refusal earlier this week to stop his trial, listed for October.
Mr Kennedy and former Fine Gael TD Liam Cosgrave had separately sought orders stopping trials in connection with alleged corrupt payments in relation to land rezoning in Carrickmines, Co Dublin.
