The was a strong pick-up in retail sales growth in September, according to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office.
The volume of sales rose 2.4 per cent in September when compared with August the best month-on-month growth since June. However, the annual sales volume growth was just 0.1 per cent.
Retail sales value rose by 2.3 per cent compared with the same month the previous year and by 3 per cent when compared with the previous month.
For the three months to September sales volume rose by 1.1 per cent when compared with the preceding three-month period.
