Three people hospitalised after Garda chase in Longford

Another three arrested after car failed to stop for gardaí on Saturday night

Three people have been arrested and another three people taken to hospital after a high speed chase in Longford town on Saturday night.

Gardaí were patrolling the town when they attempted to stop a car, and when it failed to do so they followed it at speed.

The car left the scene and crashed at Goshen cross outside the town.

Two men in their mid-20’s and another juvenile were taken to Mullingar hospital where they were treated for minor injuries.

Two women and another young person were arrested, but were later released without charge.

A file is being prepared for the Department of Public Prosecutions and gardaí say the matter is still under investigation.
