The property on which the incident occurred was not the girl’s family home, which is in Rath Lodge, Ashbourne, Co Meath. It is understood the car rolled over the child.
A spokesman for the Garda confirmed officers “are investigating an incident which occurred in the driveway of a house in Boyle O’Reilly Terrace at approximately 2.30pm” on Sunday.
