Holiday companies should establish procedures to keep delayed airline passengers fully informed as to what was being done on their behalf, a judge has recommended.
In separate actions, Judge Bryan McMahon in the Circuit Civil Court awarded two holidaymakers £750 compensation each against Michael Stein Travel Ltd for 16-hour flight delays at Malaga Airport almost a year ago.
Mr Andrew Penston, of Saval Park Road, Dalkey, and Ms Sile O'Kelly, Monastery Crescent, Clondalkin, both Co Dublin, told their counsel, Mr Garnet Orange, they had been given free lunch and dinner but had been kept in the dark about what was happening.
