Household charge to raise €160m with €10m received to date

More than €10 million has been received to date from 109,569 households who have paid the €100 household charge.

More than €10 million has been received to date from 109,569 households who have paid the €100 household charge.

Some 1.6 million households are liable for the charge. It is expected to raise an estimated €160 million.

Householders have until March 31st to pay the charge. The charge is an interim measure pending the future introduction of a comprehensive property tax.

All owners of residential property are liable for the household charge on each residential property they own.
