Gardaí investigating the fatal shooting of Dublin man Aidan O'Kane have recovered a handgun they believe was used in the killing.

The 50-year-old father of one was shot as he chased a group of teenagers down a laneway just after 7pm near his home on Shelmalier Road, East Wall last Sunday night.

The weapon, which is understood to be a Magnum, was recovered by gardaí along with small quantities of cocaine and cannabis, during searches of houses in East Wall, and the north inner city yesterday. It is believed the items were found in a disused factory.

A 18-year-old male youth arrested in connection with the fatal shooting was released without charge overnight.

A woman (32) was also released without charge yesterday evening.

Nine people have now been arrested and questioned by gardaí investigating the shooting.
