A man is in custody after cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €400,000 were seized during a drugs search in Co Wicklow yesterday.

The drugs were found during a planned search at an industrial unit near Delgany yesterday afternoon.

Gardaí said the search was conducted as part of an "ongoing Garda investigation". A substantial cannabis cultivation operation was found and an estimated 1000 cannabis plants were seized.

The man, who is in his 30s, was arrested at the scene and is being detained at Bray Garda station under the provisions of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking ) Act 1996.
