Gardaí are questioning a man after cocaine estimated to be worth €77,000 was seized in south Dublin last night.

Gardaí discovered 1kg of the drug during a planned raid on a home at Lambay Close, Ballybrack, Co Dublin.

A small quantity of ecstasy tablets were also seized during the search. Officers from the Bray Drugs Unit found the stash which, depending on the results of forensic analysis, could have a street value of up to €77,000.

A man in his 20s who was arrested at the scene is being detained at Shankill Garda Station under Section 2, Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
