Three men, armed with a handgun and a slash-hook entered the Jay Kay Casino on Kennedy Street in the town centre at about 10.30am and escaped with “an undisclosed amount of cash”. One female employee suffered “minor injuries” during the raid.

The gang used a stolen white Toyota Landcruiser vehicle with a Wexford registration to flee the scene. It was later found abandoned at Milford, a few miles away.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses.
