An appeal for funding to send six year old Brendan Kirwan to the US for treatment for a rare form of dwarfism has been launched. Brendan, from Tallaght, Co Dublin, needs £100,000 for spinal surgery to stop paralysis. The Department of Health has provided 50 per cent of the funding.
