The remains of an exploded pipebomb were found today at a house in Ballymena, Co Antrim.

The remains of an exploded pipebomb were found today at a house in Ballymena, Co Antrim.

There were reports last night of a loud bang at around 11 p.m. in the Highville area of the town. Today the exploded device was discovered in the rear yard of a house at Albert Street.

The dwelling was unoccupied at the time and sustained minor damage.

The RUC have begun an investigation into the motive behind the incident.
