Euro zone GDP grew 0.5 per cent in the third quarter from the second quarter and was up 2.7 per cent year-on-year, EU statistics office Eurostat said.

The figures are unchanged from Eurostat's previous estimates, published on November 30th.

Among the components of third-quarter GDP, Eurostat revised its estimates for household consumption to a rise of 0.7 per cent quarter-on-quarter from 0.6 per cent and for investment to a 0.6 per cent increase from 0.8 per cent.

Government spending also rose 0.6 per cent rather than the 0.8 per cent given earlier.

Exports rose by 1.8 per cent of GDP rather than 1.7 per cent as estimated earlier, with imports increasing 2.4 per cent rather than 2.1 per cent.
