Eight tourists were killed and 22 injured in a bus crash on a road along Egypt's Gulf of Suez coast, the state news agency MENA said today.

Health officials quoted by MENA as saying three of the dead in yesterday's crash were Russian nationals and efforts continued to identify the five others.

Health Minister Hatem el-Gabali arranged for all injured, who included the bus driver and a tour guide, to be transferred by medical helicopter from Hurghada general hospital to the Nasser Institute Hospital in Cairo.
