An electrical components maker is to create 65 jobs in Burnfoot, Co Donegal as part of an expansion plan by its parent company.

Powerboard is a start-up company founded by businessman Philip Doherty who already owns Powerbar, an electrical engineering company also based in Burnfoot. Powerbar already employs 35 people in R&D, sales, production and administration.

The Minister for Enterprise Michael Martin welcomed the jobs announcement saying Philip Doherty and his companies are "a great example of entrepreneurship in action and demonstrate what can be achieved in regional locations."
