Gardaí have been interviewing communters and handing out flyers as part of their investigation into the shooting of Mark Byrne in Dublin last Thursday.

Bryne (31) was shot at the corner of Berkeley Road and Eccles Street in the city at around 9.55am, shortly after being released from Mountjoy Prison. His attacker shot him three times - once in the head - before escaping on foot.

Gardaí hope the flyers will jog the memory of people who might have witnessed the shooting. They will hand out more flyers during rush hour traffic this evening.

Five people have been arrested in relation to the killing, but they have all been released without charge.
