Car sales show increase of 19%

Sales of passenger cars in Ireland in July 1996 increased, by almost 19 per cent on the figures for same month lasts year, according to figures released yesterday by the Society of the Irish Motor Industry. Just over 9,800 new cars were sold last month, bringing the total number of passenger cars sold this year to almost 95,000 - an increase of 33 per cent on the first seven months of 1995.
