The child fell from the second floor window on to a pavement at an apartment in Lydon Court, Irwin’s Lane, Galway, at about 10am on Saturday.

Gardaí are not treating the incident as suspicious.

He was taken to University Hospital, Galway, and later transferred to Temple Street.

The baby has been undergoing specialist treatment in the Dublin hospital.
