Armed raid on cash-in-transit van in Drogheda

Two men and a woman have been arrested after a cash-in-transit van was stolen in Drogheda this morning.

Two men and a woman have been arrested after a cash-in-transit van was stolen in Drogheda this morning.

Gardai received a call shortly after 10am to say the van was being held up by an armed gang at Bryanstown in Drogheda.

The gang stole the van and left the scene with an undisclosed sum of money. No-one was injured.

The van was abandoned a short distance away.

Some time later, gardai arrested the two men and one woman in a car outside a hotel near Dublin Airport.

The three were later released from custody without charge. It is understood they are no longer believed to be linked to the armed raid.
