Philippines police have identified 53 people for possible questioning in connection with the "love bug" computer virus which ravaged computers around the world, investigators said yesterday.

"We have invited them for questioning, and some have responded immediately," said an agent of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

The NBI deputy director confirmed the bureau had a list of 53 people it wanted to question but declined to elaborate, saying the NBI would hold a news conference today on developments in its investigation into what has been described as the world's most destructive cyberspace attack yet.

"Definitely more names are coming up," he said.
