LIMA - A bus plunged over a cliff in a mountainous area of southern Peru, killing at least 30 passengers and injuring 20, police said yesterday.

The officials said the bus fell over the 1,000 foot cliff late on Saturday night between Tacna, on Peru's southern border with Chile, and Puno, in the Andean highlands near the Bolivian border. The passengers were mainly locals.
