RUNNING TODAY and tomorrow, a specialised emigration exhibition at Dublin’s RDS is offering hundreds of jobs to Irish people considering moving to countries such as Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

The expo will bring together migration officials, recruitment agencies and government representatives, and is expected to draw interest from a far wider demographic than in previous years.

On site will be Christopher Willis of Canadian Visa Specialists, a company facilitating the recruitment of over 200 positions in Canada, mainly in healthcare and construction.

“There is plenty of opportunity for all and many people may just find they fall into a category. We are recruiting for a wide variety of positions,” said Mr Willis.

The professions most sought after include nurses, physiotherapists and speech therapists, while on the construction side, suitable carpenters, plumbers, electricians and panel beaters are also in demand.

Representatives from New Zealand will be looking to recruit engineers, while Australia has needs in the mining and construction sectors for skilled workers. Other industries, such as catering and IT, will also be represented at the expo.

The Working Abroad Expo takes place in the RDS in Dublin today and tomorrow from 11am to 5pm. Single entry is €10. See workingabroadexpo.com
