There are several churches which have been converted into city offices recently, but to find one in the city that has been developed for residential use is most unusual. St Kevin's Church, at the Portobello end of the South Circular Road in Dublin 8, was converted into stylish apartments some years ago and one of these, a first-floor studio, is now for sale by private treaty with an asking price of £110,000.

The selling agent is McDonald Bros in Lucan.

As this is a studio apartment it comprises one large room and a separate bathroom, all in a space measuring just over 400 sq ft.

However, the old church was divided in such a way that some apartments received some particularly dramatic features - this one has a spectacular sandstone church window, as well as an internal sandstone arch which divides the galley/kitchen area from the rest of the room. The kitchen is being sold with all of its appliances.

To maximise the sense of space, the floor was covered with cork tiles made durable with six coats of yachting varnish.

The walls have recently been painted white throughout. The fact that the ceiling is higher than average helps give the studio a more lofty feel.

The bathroom is also painted and tiled in white with navy details. Furniture designer Douglas Ito was commissioned to design radiator shelves which are included in the sale.
