Five three-bed semis could easily fit into a house that has just come on the market in the exclusive Ardilea estate in Dublin 14. Its new owners could certainly throw a big party and not feel the crush.

Sacre Coeur, a 5,000 sq ft detached house on half an acre in Louvain Glade, is for sale by private treaty through Sherry FitzGerald, with a price tag in the region of £1.45 million (€1.84m).

The six-bedroom house is ideal for a family. Every room is equally large, all the bedrooms are doubles and there is a large integral garage.

The setting is particularly delightful in the verdant Ardilea estate, which was designed in the 1960s along the lines of "American suburbia". Louvain Glade is a small cul-de-sac off Louvain, and Sacre Coeur is the end house on the road. The present owners have lived there for 25 years and are moving to a smaller home.
