SCIENCE WEEK PHOTO COMPETITION:The Tyndall Institute is calling on TY and other secondary students to snap the science, engineering and technology around us. This year's theme is "Celebrating Creativity and Innovation". Selected entries will be exhibited during Science Week (Nov 8-15) and winning photos displayed by Bus Éireann on local commuter routes. SCIENCE RAP

This unusual initiative aims to get young people to express their thoughts on science and technology through rap music. The idea was inspired by the Large Hadron Rap, which has had more than five million YouTube hits. To enter, compose and video your own science rap, upload to YouTube, and send in the link on a completed application form. Information will be sent to all secondary schools. Closing date for entries is Friday Oct 23.
