Belfast hip-hop trio Kneecap have announced they will release a new album this year, with a statement on their social media platforms that said “the Paddies are back”.
Fenian is due out on April 24th, 2026.
The group teased the album announcement on Tuesday evening with clips captioned “Fenian Forces land tomorrow ...”
The album is, according to the band’s statement, “inspired by, and proudly named ‘Fenian’, who were warriors in Irish folklore, and later a derogatory term for the Irish”.

“Now we’re using it to name everyone speaking truth to power,” the musicians added.
Fenian is the follow up to Kneecap’s critically acclaimed record Fine Art, which received a five star review from the Irish Times.
The group has been the subject of multiple legal battles involving the UK government, after band member Liam Ó hAnnaidh was accused of displaying a flag in support of proscribed terrorist organisation Hizbullah at a gig in November 2024.
The case was dismissed at London High Court in September 2025 on a technical error in the way Ó hAnnaidh was charged.
However, the UK Crown Prosecution Service’s (CPS) appealed the judge’s decision to throw out the case against the rapper in January 2026.
The band said Fenian was not “a swift reaction, but a considered response to those that tried to silence us. And failed”.
Fenian will be released via Heavenly Records.
Fans of Kneecap can tune into BBC Radio 1 with Jack Saunders on Wednesday at 7.30pm or head over to the group’s YouTube for the video premiere of their new single, Liars Tale.
