Colin Farrell, Bill Nighy and Maisie Williams will walk the red carpet at the Dublin International Film Festival (DIFF) next month.

The news comes after it was announced Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas would premiere their new film Power Ballad at the festival.

Farrell will debut his new documentary, The Slightest Touch at the festival, while Nighy and Williams will premiere their latest project 500 Miles.

500 Miles follows the story of a grandfather (Nighy) on the west coast of Ireland who is estranged from his grandchildren until they take it upon themselves to visit him.

Taking place from February 19th until March 1st, the 2026 edition of the festival will showcase 83 films. It includes 17 world premieres and 53 short films. This year’s DIFF will screen a record 26 Irish feature length films.

“There are lots of firsts this year,” festival director Gráinne Humphreys said.

“We are proud of the range and diversity of this year’s programme and look forward to welcoming new audiences while reconnecting with our loyal attendees.”

Other famous faces billed to make an appearance are Mamma Mia’s Dominic Cooper, Saipan star Éanna Hardwicke and Glee’s Chris Colfer.

DIFF will open with a world premiere of David Gleeson’s Once Upon A Time In A Cinema. The film, was described by Humphreys “as an Irish counterpart to Cinema Paradiso”.

The screening will see Colin Morgan whose credits include Merlin, and Calam Lynch of Bridgerton fame join director David Gleeson.

The festival will be closed by the world premiere of John Carney’s latest film Power Ballad, starring Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas.

Filmed in Ireland, the comedy musical follows a wedding singer Rick, played by Rudd, who crosses paths with fading boy band star Danny, played by Jonas, during a gig.

After the DIFF world premiere, the film will be shown at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas.

“It’s the perfect closing film for the 2026 festival, which features a record number of Irish features – the future of Irish cinema has never looked so bright,” Humphreys said.
